WireGuard VPN Setup Guide
Your .conf file is PERMANENT. Download once. Import once. Never delete it.
- Download WireGuard — wireguard.com/install (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS)
- Download your .conf file from your Connection Hub (My Lab tab) — click the download button
- Import into WireGuard — Open WireGuard app → "Import Tunnel from File" → select the .conf file
- Activate the tunnel — toggle ON in the WireGuard app
- Test connectivity:
ping your-lab-ipIf you get a reply — your VPN tunnel is working and key exchange is good.

Do NOT download the .conf file again. Do NOT delete it from WireGuard. Your keys are permanent and tied to your account. If you lose the file, contact your trainer.
How Security Works
- WireGuard VPN — encrypted tunnel between your device and our server. Your keys are permanent, never rotated.
- Time-Based Access (ZTNA) — firewall rules allow lab access ONLY during your booked session. Outside session time, the gate is closed even if VPN is connected.
- Folder Isolation — you see only YOUR lab folder. Other students' work is invisible to you.
- Node Limits — max 10 devices running simultaneously. Prevents resource hogging.
- Auto-Cleanup — when your session ends, all running VMs are saved and shut down. VPN gate closes. Resources freed for the next student.

Your Student Dashboard
After login, you land on the My Lab tab. Here you'll see:
- Profile card — your name, course, and fee status at the top
- Lab Access Policy — session quota rules, no-show policy, certificate requirements
- Session Timer — countdown when a session is active (shows "No active session" otherwise)
- Session Quota — progress bar showing sessions used vs total
- Navigation tabs — My Lab, Book Lab, My History, AI Help, My Profile, About, Lab Guide
The green "System Healthy" indicator in the top-right means the platform is online and ready.

Download Your WireGuard VPN Config
Scroll down on the My Lab tab to find the green "Your WireGuard VPN Config (Permanent)" section:
- Click the green "Download .conf" button to save your config file
- Or click "View Config" to see the raw text, then "Copy to Clipboard"
- You can also scan the QR code with the WireGuard mobile app
This config is permanent and unique to your account. Download it once and keep it forever. Do NOT share it with others.

Install WireGuard & Import Your Config
- Download WireGuard from wireguard.com/install — available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
- Open WireGuard app after installing
- Import your config:
- Windows/macOS: Click "Import tunnel(s) from file" → select your downloaded .conf file
- Mobile (iOS/Android): Tap "+" → "Create from QR code" → scan the QR from your dashboard
- Linux: Copy .conf to
/etc/wireguard/then runwg-quick up wg0
Do NOT activate the tunnel yet! WireGuard only works during your booked session time. Activate it when your session starts.

Book a Lab Session
Click the "Book Lab" tab in the navigation:
- You'll see a green banner showing which labs your course includes
- Open the "Select Lab Pod" dropdown
- Choose a pod (e.g., CCNA Lab, CCNP Enterprise, etc.)
- Pods not in your course show a lock icon — you cannot book them
You can also instant-book from AI Help → Quick Actions by clicking CCNA, CCNP, etc. buttons!

Select a Time Slot
After selecting a pod, available time slots appear:
- Green slots = Available — click to book
- Red slots = Fully booked (all concurrent users taken)
- Each session is 2 hours
- You must book at least 10 minutes ahead
- Times are shown in your timezone (IST by default)
CCNA has 4 concurrent slots — so it's rarely full. ISE has only 1 slot, so book early!

Activate WireGuard VPN
When your session time arrives:
- Open the WireGuard app on your device
- Click "Activate" on your imported tunnel
- Status changes to Active with a green indicator
- Your dashboard shows the session countdown timer
- The Connection Hub shows your pod IP and PNetLab credentials
VPN only works during your booked session. Outside session time, the server blocks your connection — this is normal.

Access PNetLab & Start Your Lab
With VPN connected during your session:
- Check your Connection Hub (scroll down on My Lab tab) for the pod IP and PNetLab credentials
- Open your browser and go to http://<pod-ip> (use HTTP, not HTTPS)
- Login with the username/password shown in Connection Hub
- Click your lab topology to open it
- Click on individual nodes (routers, switches) to open their console
- Start configuring! Use
show ip int brief,conf t, etc.
Use Chrome or Firefox for best HTML5 console experience. Allow pop-ups for the PNetLab site.

AI Help & Quick Actions
Click the "AI Help" tab to access the AI assistant:
- Quick Actions (green) — One-click buttons to book labs (CCNA, CCNP, ASA, FTD, Palo Alto, Fortinet, ISE), check status, view credentials, quota, and diagnose issues
- AI Chat (blue) — Ask questions about the platform, networking concepts, lab troubleshooting. It knows your course and session status.
- Tools & Diagnostics (purple) — Run connectivity checks, view session history, and reset your PNetLab password

Your Profile, Quota & Fee Receipt
Click "My Profile" tab to manage your account:
- Profile summary — email, course, fee status, admission & expiry dates, account status
- Edit Profile — update your name, mobile number, city
- Fee Receipt Upload — upload PDF/JPG/PNG (max 10MB). Admin reviews within 24-48 hours.
- Session Quota (on My Lab tab) — shows used/total sessions with a progress bar. Sessions released in batches of 20, auto-extended up to your course limit.
Click "Edit Profile" button in the top navbar for quick access from any page.
